Strong of a unique rail management experience in emerging economies,
AURAXIS recently resulted from the restructuring of different companies active in the railway industry for over 20 years.
The Rail Management division concentrates its resources on the Latin America market, providing railway operation management, technical assistance and support services including procurement of railway equipment to public and private railways.
The Innovation division is dedicated to apply new technologies to the railway operations landscape. In cooperation with partners VECTURIS and FUTURE RESOURCES, AURAXIS is currently developing new embedded logic and related mobile telecommunications solutions to improve railway safety. We apply our new ideas to the operational management. We are specifically focused on the improvement of field operations, with centralised and embarked technologies. Our aim is to develop unique high-tech solutions while optimizing costs and benefits.
Looking backwards ...
Since its inception in 2005, RA CONCEPT main activity was to design, produce and operate luxury trains in promising tourism niche markets (Vietnam, Egypt, Sri Lanka). Trying to satisfy the requirements of its operating partners, the company started developing its own portfolio of railway safety products with the support from the Walloon Region in 2013.
And now...
2016 marks a new beginning for RA CONCEPT: it becomes AURAXIS. The railway operating activities, performed by partner company (VECTURIS), and the prospects arising therefrom, in Latin America, were transfered to AURAXIS.
The new focus of AURAXIS are the following areas:
- Train Operator on railway mainly in South America;
- Designer and integrator of high-tech systems for railway safety to our own operations but also with third-party operations;
The thread remains the rail sector where we have over 20 years of experience across different structures.

We designed and set up in Colombia a state-of-the-art railway training centre (CEFIF-2015), aiming at becoming a regional centre of railway technical excellence. As key feature of our training strategy, it features an advanced locomotive driving simulator that will serve as certification (skills control) and continuous capacity enhancement device.

Rail Operations
AURAXIS is a private railway management company (rail operator) providing transport services - mining products, commercial cargo and passengers - through various contractual frameworks (full concession, track access agreement, management contract, technical assistance), with a strategic focus on the Latin American market.
AURAXIS Rail Management division concentrates its resources on the Latin American market, providing railway operations management, technical assistance and support services including procurement of railway equipment to public and private railways.
Hand-in hand with rail operations, we develop and manage the "Dispatcher Control Center".
Driven by its operational requirements, AURAXIS has identified a number of areas where railway safety and operation performance could be enhanced thanks to the application of new technologies. Most advanced technologies are put to work in train-to-train and train-to-shore telecommunications, train geo-positioning, virtual signalling, fuel consumption optimization. Our High-Technology partner FUTURE RESOURCES has, among other tools, designed and produced a number of tools such as ATRAC On-Board® (Rolling Stock Tag System for Real Time In motion Control), TAWS® (Train Approaching Warning System), while IdoRail® (Anti-collision System) was designed in house.

AURAXIS provides both its subsidiaries operated companies and third party consumers ( mining companies, logistic partners, Government or Conceding Authorities) with technical assistance and rail advisory services. Over the last 20 years, AURAXIS management team, through another entity, has been leading advisor for railway concession feasibility studies, transport planning, investment programming, etc.

INTERNATIONAL
Manage most of the International Procurement: rolling stock, track maintenance equipment;
Acquisition of European, North-American and Asian equipment, whether new, reconditioned or second hand, as well as spare parts, spare sub-assemblies, consumables for existing equipment;
Understand and solve cross-cultural issues that may arise.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Provide assistance with leasing/rehabilitation/overhaul of railway equipment (locomotives, wagons, track maintenance machines, sub-assemblies), upgrading, unit exchange (UTEX), rebuilding, etc.);
Global follow up of specific projects such as installation of automatic level crossings, installation / commissioning of rolling stock maintenance workshops, technical assistance ;

COMPLIANCE

Multimodal Logistics
In a tight/competitive environement in rail/land transportation, a door to door multimodal service is necessary. In a rail-based logistic chain, it is of paramount importance to integrate first mile, last mile, terminal operations, warehousing services and rail operation. The performance of the global logistic chain will primarily depend on the cost efficiency of the trucking services as well as on the efficiency of the terminal operations (optimization of shunting movements, optimization of container stacking and storage of general cargos, efficiency of loading , unloading, cross-docking, etc.) First/Last mile operations must be fully integrated to the planning of train movements. Train movements planning is optimized witht the use of train simulation software aiming at optimizing the track capacity utilization.

As key asset of our training strategy, it features an advanced locomotive driving simulator that will serve as certification (skills control) and continuous capacity enhancement device.
Through out the last few years, a complete set of technical and operations manuals were developed. Those manuals serve as a basis for the pedagogical strategy. A matrix of training modules for the different careers has been elaborated. The combination of all those features will guarantee the professional certification approved by the competent Authorities. We also offer expertise in developing Operating Rules based on the needs of the client railroad, for a safer and more efficient operation.
Innovation
In partnership with FUTURE RESOURCES, we develop high-tech innovation to improve railway operations. With the effervescence and the convenience of embedded technologies, AURAXIS makes railway management safer, cheaper and more efficient.
The products RailTracker, ATRAC and TAWS are already on the market. However, we are currently developing new applications and enhancement and we still have several innovation coming soon.
ATRAC
Our "Rolling Stock Monitoring and Management System" is called "ATRAC" (for "automatic tracking").
ATRAC is a computer-based "OIS" (Operations Information System) to help manage the railway operations in stations and along the line, and at the central train control office (called COTRAF for "CONTROL TRAFFIC" in this document).
ATRAC does not deal with financial aspects.
TAWS®
(Train Approaching Warning System) is a simple, automatic signal Solution aiming at improving safety by generating light & sound alarm at critical locations of a rail network (schools, community areas, populated neighbourhoods, non-guarded crossings, tunnels, blind curves, etc.) to announce a train approaching
IdoRail®
is a novel and autonomous anti-collision system establishing direct loco cab communications to optimize collision prevention and the operational performance. With a unique High-Tech telecommunicaation system, we detect locomotives on the same rail to prevent accident.
New development
Together with FUTURE RESOURCES and other industrial partners, we are currently working on the specifications of a number of new products, all integrating our advanced telecommunication technology:
